Among the visits to Shinmeizan during the month of February, we wish to mention in a special way that of our Bishop, His Excellency Mgr. Josep Abella (Feb. 7-8), that of Fr. Renato Filippini, sx (Feb. 8.9) and that of Fr. Daniele Giolitti, a Consolata Missionary working in Mongolia, who came on Feb. 17 and will stay with us until March 4.

INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOG
Among the various activities of interreligious dialog, particularly significant have been:

• Our presence at the annual ceremony of inauguration of the agricultural season held at the Shinto Shrine of our village (Heboura)on Feb. 1;

• The participation (via ZOOM) by Sr. Maria De Giorgi in the online meeting of the “Women Network for Interreligious Dialogue” organized by the Pontifical Dicastery for Interreligious Dialog on February 9, and in the online meeting of representatives of Asian Countries, called by the Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC/OEIA) on February 25;

• The invitation by the Bishop of Hiroshima, His Exc. Mgr. Shirahama Mitsuru to Sr. Maria De Giorgi to take part in a meeting with Mr. Francesco Pecorari, on Feb. 26, in view of his participation in the annual international interreligious meeting organized by the Community of Sant’Egidio;

• The meeting at Shinmeizan, on February 27-28, of Mr. Francesco Pecorari, of the Sant’Egidio Community, with Ven. Hara Onin, Head of the Choen-ji (Kumamoto), and Ven. Morioka Hideki, Head of the Daiseion-ji (Wipperfürth , Germany), both belonging to the Nichiren Buddhist School, in view of their participation in the annual interreligious meeting organized by the Community of Saint Egidio, which this year will be held in Assisi, Italy, on 25-27 October.
