In May, while still teaching at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Maria De Giorgi was also involved in other activities, including a three-day conference held in Camaldoli on 13-15 May, on ‘The Practice of Hesychasm in the Christian Tradition and the Nenbutsu in Pure Land Buddhism.’

11 May – Fr Franco attended the meeting of the Japan Bishops’ Conference Sub-commission for Interreligious Dialogue, held in Tokyo.

15 may – Fr Franco and Fr Rocco participated in the annual interreligious prayer for peace initiative held by the Byakko Shinko Kai religious group at the foot of Mount Fuji.

21 May – Fr Franco, Fr Rocco and Ms Kumiko Ikeda participated in the annual celebration held at the Sainen Temple to commemorate the birth of Shinran (the founder of Pure Land Buddhism).

23 May – Fr Franco and Fr Rocco attended the bimonthly meeting of the Fukuoka Interreligious Study Group.
