MAIN ACTIVITIES OF INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE – MARCH 2018

March 5 – Fr. Sonoda and Fr. Franco attend the solemn celebration of the 80^th anniversary of the foundation of Rissho kosei kai, at the Kumamoto headquarters of this world-widespread and very active lay Buddhist organization, which is remarkable also for its commitment to, and engagement in, interreligious dialogue.

March 11 -  Fr. Franco holds a conference at the Carmelites’ Church in Tokyo on Pope Francis Encyclical Letter “‘Laudato si’ - ’ “On the care for our common house, the earth”, read from the point of view of interreligious dialogue.  The text will be published later this year on the Japanese quarterly review “Carmel”.

March 23 – Ven. Tatsuda Dai, head of the Buddhist Temple Sairen (Pure Land) of Imari (Saga Pref.) visits Shinmeizan, accompanied by his eldest son and other two friends.

March 26 – Fr. Franco attends the regular meeting of the Fukuoka based Buddhist-Christian study group. This time the introductory lecture was held by Ven. Inoue, Head of the Koen Temple (Pure Land Buddhism) of Kitakyushu, on “The Buddhist Dharma and the Christian Logos”.
