Although this month it was particularly hot and the covid-19 virus continued to hamper social life,  Shinmeizan was able to continue its usual activities. Among them we wish to remember the following:

-  August 1-3: five young people attended the annual study session for Students of the University of Industrial Medicine of Kitakyushu, held by Shinmeizan,  on the meaning and value of human life from a religious perspective.

-  On August 4, Sr. Maria, as Consultor to the Pontifical Dicastery for Interreligious Dialog,  took part in the annual SUMMIT OF RELIGIONS held at Mount Hiei (Kyoto) at the Headquarters of Tendai Buddhism, in spiritual continuity with the  first interreligious meeting of prayer for world peace held in Assisi in 1986.

-  On August 16-20, Shinmeizan welcomed a group of four Sisters of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, from Okinawa,  for a retreat guided by Fr. Claudio.

-  On August 29, Fr. Claudio and Sr. Maria represented Shinmeizan at the Seimeizan-Schweitzer Temple of Tamana, participating in the commemoration of Ven. Furukawa Tairyu and  of Ven. Ryuto , respectively on the 22^nd and 2^nd anniversary of their death.
