SHINMEIZAN – Main activities of interreligious dialog during the month of May, 2018

May 13-15 – Fr. Franco is invited by the ‘Consolata’ Missionaries to speak about interreligious dialog at the annual assembly of their East Asia Region (which includes Mongolia, Korea and Taiwan). The assembly took place at the Retreat House of the Sisters Disciples of the Divine Master, in Korea.

May 15 – Sr. Maria, while continuing her academic activities at the Pontifical Gregorian University, is invited to take part, with the key lecture, in the meeting on “The Logos and the Dharma” organized by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialog and the Committee on Interreligious Dialog and Ecumenism of the Bishops’ Conference of Italy, with the cooperation of the Hindu Society of Italy, the Italian Buddhist Association, the Sikhi Sewa Society and the Institute of Jainology of London. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Bishops’ Conference of Italy in Rome, and was concluded by an audience with the Holy Father Francis.

May 17 (May 18 in Japan) marks the beginning of Ramadan for Muslims.  Shinmeizan forwards to the Iman of the Mosque of Kumamoto, and to other Muslims our partners in dialog, the message sent to them for the occasion by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialog, accompanied by a personal letter.
