On June 5-6, Shinmeizan welcomed longtime friend Ven. Ide Satoshi, Head of the Sainen Temple of Pure Land Buddhism in Imari (Saga Pref.), accompanied by two members of his `sangha`, who stayed with us for a couple of days.

On June 9, the monthly retreat was held with the participation of 14 persons, among them some non-Christians.

On June 16, Sr. Maria returned to Shinmeizan from Rome, where, on June 5-8, she participated, as a Consultor from Japan, in the Plenary Session of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, in which she was asked to offer a summary of the papers and talks offered by the representatives of local Churches from various Asian Countries and the lively discussion that followed them.    https://youtu.be/z6Sm3NRtoWI

On June 19, Fr. Claudio and Fr Franco represented Shinmeizan and Christianity at the annual memorial ceremony of the unjust execution of Nishi San, held at the Seimeizan-Schweitzer Temple of Tamana (Pref. of Kumamoto). Because of the still lingering danger of covid-19, the ceremony was held via Zoom.
