On October 2, Shinmeizan held its 15th biennial `Interreligious meeting of prayer for world peace`, to which the representatives of various religions took part: Shinto, Omoto, Buddhism (Tendai, Nichiren,  Pure land), Tenrikyo, Risshokoseikai, all of them longtime partners of interreligious dialog and friendship with Shinmeizan.

On the Christian side, with the Catholic Church, also representatives of the local Lutheran Community participated.  For the occasion, also the Regional Superior of the Xavierian Missionaries, Fr. Felipe Lopez, was present.

On October 12, Ven. Jisen Oshiro, a Buddhist Nun of the Soto Zen tradition, accompanied by some of her disciples, visited Shinmeizan. Ven. Jisen had been in charge of the neighboring Zen monastery of Shogoji for several years, and at that time had frequent contacts with Shinmeizan, before returning to South America.  Now, on the occasion of her visit to Japan with some of her disciples, she kindly wished to pay a visit to Shinmeizan, as a sign of a deep and lasting friendship.
