August 2021
Also this year, like last year, because of covid-19, we had to cancel the courses on the value of human life considered from the point of view of religions, held every year for the Students of the University of Industrial Medicine of Kitakyushu. But one of the students insisted to be allowed to come, even if alone! So, on August 2-4, we held for him… the `full three days course”!
We always treasure our special connection with the Seimeizan-Schweitzer Temple of Tamana. So, on August 28, we joined in the commemoration of the 21st anniversary of the death of the founder of the Temple, Ven. Furukawa, who died on Aug. 25, 2000. It was also the first anniversary of the death of Ven. Ryuto, daughter of Ven. Furukawa and a Buddhist nun of the Rinzai Zen tradition, who died last year on August 19.
