JULY-AUGUST 2018
SHINMEIZAN DIARY
- The main activities of Shinmeizan during the months of July and August this year have been the annual study sessions for students from the Kitakyushu University of Industrial Medicine. Such short intensive courses have been held at Shinmeizan every year since 2001. Also this year, 19 young people, 6 girls and 13 boys, have taken part in the two four days’ courses held respectively on July 25-28 and August 7-10. These courses, held on request of the Professor of Medical Ethics of the same university, deal with the meaning of human life from an (inter-)religious perspective.

- On July 8, Fr. Franco also led the Kumamoto group for interreligious dialogue in a visit to the Seimeizan-Schweitzer Buddhist Temple of Tamana.
- Shinmeizan is also always welcoming visitors who come for some days of prayer or for consultation on interreligious dialogue. A Retreat was held from July 5 to July 14. Visitors are of course mostly Japanese, but also from foreign Countries. Among others, this year, from India, Taiwan, the Philippines, Mongolia, France and Norway.
