On January 1^st, as usual at Shinmeizan, we greeted in prayer the first dawn of the year and welcomed guests coming for the traditional new year’s visit to a Temple. 

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." (John 1:14)
Dear friends and supporters of Shinmeizan,
As we prepare to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord and to begin a new year, we wish to remember together with you the main activities that have marked our journey this year.
May the peace and light of Christ accompany us during this holy season and through the new year.

On October 6, Shinmeizan held its 16^th biennial meeting of prayer for peace, inviting its closest partners in interreligious dialogue. The representatives of 9 different religious traditions gathered in our hondo (Prayer Hall) offering in turn prayers and invocations for peace in our world lacerated by so many conflicts and wars. Afterwards, all the about thirty participants gathered together in the dining hall for a friendly cup of tea.
