On February 11th, about twenty people, belonging to the group known as 'Katakamuna', gathered at Shinmeizan for a study session. It is not easy to define this group, or even to describe it as one of the many ‘new-new religions’ of Japan. But since Jesus seems to be the pivotal element of their interpretation of human events, they have come to Shinmeizan, asking to know more about Him, his teaching, and the Bible in general.

Shinmeizan takes part regularly in the main events of the village (Heboura) it belongs to, like the annual meeting of the family-heads, or the gatherings at the local Shinto Temple in February and in November, respectively at the beginning and at the end of the work in the fields.

  • the talk given by Fr. Franco, on October 6, at the Cathedral of Fukuoka, on the role exercised by the Catholic Church in interreligious dialog since Vatican 2, at the meeting organized by the Office for Ecumenism of the Diocese of Fukuoka;
