Also this year, through the participation of Sr. Maria De Giorgi, Shinmeizan was present at the annual international interreligious meeting organized by the Community of Saint Egidio, to keep alive and strong the so-called “spirit of Assisi”, the torch lit in the city of Saint Francis in 1986. This 32nd edition of the event was held in Madrid from Sept. 15 to 17, with the theme and motto: ”Peace with no borders”.
Also this year Shinmeizan has welcomed、 and will welcome in the next few months, guests and visitors coming first of all, of course, from Japan, but also from other Countries: France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, United States, Continental China and Taiwan, Indonesia…
On June 9, the “Kumamoto group for Interreligious Dialog” gathered for its 91st meeting since it was founded in 1992 on the occasion of a day long study session on interreligious dialog led by Ven. Tairyu Furukawa and Fr. Franco. Since its beginning, the group gathers four times a year for interreligious activities.
Sr. Maria, while continuing her courses at the Gregorian University in Rome, has been asked to hold conferences or to take part in other events dealing with interreligious dialogue.
